Sorry we went there

My father was here for a short period of time 3 years ago. He was brought here for rehab after a hospital stay, mainly because they had on-site dialysis. When I toured the place they showed the nicer side of the building. When he was admitted it was to the other side & nowhere near as nice. Every time I came in I had to track down someone to help him with something. He fell out of bed, but they wouldn't put up rails. They were going to put a mattress with a dip in it on his bed for him. I finally had to make someone do it. He ended up getting a bad staph infection while there & died within a week.

One of the worst nursing home experiences

My husband spent 5 years at this facility. 5 years of me writing them up for unsatisfactory care. They would always promise to make sure things were going to get better. They totally lied about getting him up at least once a day for lunch or dinner. the last draw was when i got a message that he had a bed sore. I went to visit him and saw the sore, I got sick to my stomach, called 911, MIT'S arrived and took him to the emergency room where he got treatment and had to be given a heavy pain med. the police were mortified. he was laying on just a plastic mattress in a lot of pain with this open wound. Carmel Health was going to wait 2 days waiting for wound doctor visit. When the medication for his skin was burning him, they just stopped using it, with out finding another medication that would help, so nothing was used but reg. lotion. The place was filthy. Will never seek service with any Cardon or American Senior facilities again. Just transferred him to his 5th nursing home. For now he seems to be getting better care and feels like a human and not being treated like he has no feelings are rights.

I was there 3 weeks. It was terrible.

I was there for rehab after surgery. It would take someone a minimum of 30 minutes to answer the light when I needed help. One nurse tried to give me my morning meds at night and also tried to give me an insulin shot. I am not diabetic. Every meal was cold and had to be warmed up in the microwave which was in my room. I would never go back nor recommend it to anyone.

Please Don't Send Your Loved One to Bell Trace Skilled Nursing

I could never recommend leaving a loved one at Bell Trace skilled nursing facility. Three weeks after being admitted after surgery, my father was constantly complaining of upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, inability to eat, etc. I am in another city, and on the phone he was telling me he was going to die. When I spoke to his nurse she would say he's "fine, resting comfortably." After a few days of this I insisted they send him to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with C. DIFF. When I called the Bell Trace nurse to tell her, she DENIED that he had c. diff and said "it's only colitis." It is now 4 weeks later and my father was unable to overcome this setback; he is going into hospice. He contracted this infection at Bell Trace and likely had it for at least a week before going to the ER. Another nurse was extremely rude to me and there were other issues - food is terrible. There is something really off at this place, and with all my heart, I recommend you stay away.

Not recommended!

My mother-in-law was here for 2 weeks. During that time her bed was only changed 1 time and that only happened because I went to the nurses desk and asked for it to be done. They only offered to help her get a shower twice. Once at 8 o'clock at night (she declined at that hour) and then the rehab nurse asked her if she had been given a shower (after she had been there for 10 days without a shower) and offered to help her. They are not very responsive to patients requests. Sometimes making them wait for a half hour and longer to get a drink and even to have help to the restroom. The lady beside my mil was completely helpless and she put her light on for help to the restroom. After 20 minutes I tried to get a nurse and was told they knew her light was on but they were busy going over patients. After another 15 minutes the lady was trying to move to the restroom on her own. I again went for a nurse because I was afraid she might injure herself. There were 3 nurses behind the desk working on their computers. One of them did come help the lady to the restroom. I then left. My mil called me 20 minutes later telling me the nurses had left the lady in there and she was calling for help. She wanted my mil to call 911. My mil is on oxygen and had to have a walker so she is not able to help anyone. My mil tried to get the nurses attention to help her. They finally came back in after 20 minutes. The next day they left the same lady in a soiled bed (because again they didn't come to take her to the restroom when she needed to go) for an hour. The food they served was sub par. They don't always come ask what you would prefer for their meals and the patient is just stuck with whatever they get. There was a mess up with prescriptions getting sent to the incorrect pharmacy when my mil was discharged. In all, it was not a good experience.

Terrible Memory Care facility

If you are looking for a Memory Care facility for your loved one, do not put them here. The staff is not trained for Alzheimer’s patients who are mobile. They don’t smile, they don’t engage with patients, the don’t redirect or re-approach. They put patients in front of the nurses station to sit all day so that they can text or socialize. If your loved one gets agitated, they call an ambulance to take them to the ER. They have no communication within departments. You have to tell them over and over again your loved ones needs. Please don’t place your loved ones at this facility.

Terrible

Severely understaffed. My mother got sepsis in their care from a wound that was not cared for properly. The staff kept lying to us and saying that she was in good health and progressing in rehab. We finally got the truth when it was all too late and my mother was rushed to the hospital on our demand. If you want somewhere that has the time and ability to care for your loved one, Solarbron is not the place. I hope to make this so that no one else has to go through what we have. The pain of losing a mother is the worst feeling in this entire world. Especially when she still had life to live. There is no replacement. I would say that if someone needs long term care or long term rehab, this is not the place!

I went there to visit a family member. The staff ignores the residents, especially the nurses. Residents just sitting in halls ignored. You can hear people asking for help. Meal came very late and with no silverware. Family member begs to be taken somewhere else, said state is always there because of problems. I am looking for something better.

My mom passed away there after only being there a few hours. I never did meet the doctor in charge, if there was one. The nurse on duty said she did not know my mom was so ill or much about her. How could she not know? The place should be shut down.

AVOID This Facility

I am pleased to see this allows me to rate this facility less than one star. Avoid choosing this facility if you really care for your loved one. I live at Carmel Health and Living, and I could tell stories that would raise the hair on your neck. The food is terrible, they are insufficiently staffed, and management doesn't care. I contracted MRSA here, and they gave me antibiotics for one month and never tested me again. They told me everyone in nursing homes and hospitals have MRSA. They don't care about their residents or their families coming in contact with this virus. My brother won't set foot in here to visit me because of the facilities attitude toward MRSA. They accept it as normal. I wonder how the CDC feels about this attitude. Put your loved ones in any facility but a Cardon home.

Moved Mom ASAP!

Our Mom was there less than 2 days before we moved her. In that short time, she had 2 -3 falls, was found in feces and urine. When we received the call after the first night there that she had fallen, the nurse was laughing. This facility has new ownership. Everything is different. Watch out for your loved one

Disregard ALL older reviews.

Do not place your loved one here. The old reviews for this facility are very misleading. The property has been purchased by a new management company and is not the same. The level of care for a patient that has any kind of extra care is extremely lacking. You, or someone else will need to "babysit" the staff to ensure medications are given in a timely manner and basic needs (such as changing clothes and bathing) are met. From what I have been told, this was once a 5-star facility, however it is no longer close. If you have a loved one that needs minimal supervision, maybe this would be an ideal option, however we have not been impressed and will find another facility for our mom as soon as possible.

My mom is on peritoneal dialysis and her room should be sterilized and it’s always dirty!!! I have to always request housekeeping to reclean her room!!! The floor is always dirty!!! Some of the staff is nice and some are rude!!! I’m in the process of moving my mom to another facility that’s cleaner with nice and pleasant staff!!! Dehabbed before rehabbed

Father sent from hospital to complete rehab at this facility. He had worked up to getting out of bed and walking with a walker, and not assistance, at the hospital. PT at the facility dehabilitated him by keeping him from using a walker for a full week there, even after family insisted that he was able to. We took him out of there to rehab at home. As they were not getting the job done there.

disappointed

I usually go to visit my family member who just got moved to the south wing ,Every day I go I see the same employees running up and down the halls while majority of the nurse sit on their butts at the nurse station . Usually there is only 2 aide taking care of 40 something people .Dinner is suppose to start at 5:30 and we had to sit and wait for 45 minutes for them to start serving food and even when they started that no one still didn't have any drinks .It's not just one or two days it's every day I go .The dietary staff sit and wait until the nurse aides come in and help. I even talked with a few family members of other residents and found out they helped pass drinks in the dining room on a few occasion because they felt bad . Pendleton is close and easy for our family to get there but we are looking for other places .I heard a few nurses talking about bed bugs if so I believe they should notify family immediately instead of keeping it a secret .I don't believe my family member or anyone else's is getting the care they truly deserve and I'm not sure the management of the building cares either .
