Nice place

Gabriel Manor was the nicest dementia care facility we visited in the area. It doesn't smell like a lot of other ones do, and the people are usually friendly. There has been a bit of turnover in staff, but so far, so good. The meals they serve seem good, though I haven't eaten there.

Assisted Living
March 30, 2015

I visited Green Leaf Care Center today. I spent about 30 minutes with Heidi Keys and one of her assistants. I was provided a price sheet with current monthly rates for Semi-Private ($2600), Private ($3350), and Deluxe Private ($3650) rooms. Monthly charges for Medication Management are a function of number of Medications needed (1-3 $180, 4-7 $300, 8+ $450). We then went on a tour of the facility so I could see examples of the different types of rooms. They showed me their Dining and Activity Rooms. They said that, if needed, they would help with documentation required by my Long Term Care Insurance.

Nice place overall, not a good fit for our loved one

Overall I think they do a good job at Gabriel Manor, although the facility did not end up being a great fit for my loved one. It is a new, nice looking, well kept facility, and overall I think the staff are friendly and caring. However I do not think it is an appropriate place for residents who need a high degree of mobility assistance, they just do not have the staff on hand to monitor that sort of care. I think it would be a very nice place for those with more independent or mobile loved ones, however.

Nice place, overall

Things have gone very well so far with The Gardens of Green Ridge! It's a nice looking, clean facility, and it is in a nice area of town. The staff are very friendly and take great care of the residents. One thing I'd like to see them do better with is their activity schedule. It can be a little unpredictable, and I'd like to see them do more off-site trips.

The community is very clean, and the staff is very friendly.

The community is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. They can be a little slow to respond to the residents requests. The laundry isn't done very well, they don't seem to iron at all. The communication between the nursing staff, and the doctors or medical staff that visit. There is a disconnect there. We liked the location, it is perfect for us. They seem pretty responsive to the families requests.

Short Staffed

Mom was there maybe a year and a half. They are short staffed and that was one of the reasons that I moved her. That and her dementia was getting really bad and the staff just didn't know how to deal with it. There were some very dedicated people there, just not enough of them.

Would recommend this community

When we first visited Franklin Manor we really liked how friendly and helpful that staff was. This community is more designed for memory care. The rooms are more on the smaller side, but were still cozy enough. The food was bland, so that could of used some improvement.

Additional Cost On Top Of Room Rate

I was looking for a community that would be able to transport my mother too and from her dialysis treatments. This community would have been happy to do so for an additional cost and they only run the transportation on certain days so I would have had to schedule mothers appointments around them and that was not going to happen. They had mentioned that depending on how much medication she was on there would be an additional charge for that as well. The staff was nice and very informative but I wasn't looking to spend more money when these things are offered other places at no additional charge. The community was smaller in size and it was closer to my house but with the other addons, I will travel a little further for no additional cost for the care my mother needs.

Franklin Manor has removed all of our anxieties about the level of care and adjustment of our family member to her new setting.

I would rate Franklin Manor great except for the fact the facility is new and is still working out some procedures that will assist families with their supportive needs. For example, the responsible party is obligated to supply toiletries and while Franklin Manor has been excellent at notifying us when a supply is low, it would seem economical and efficient to have central purchasing for some items. The staff has been superb in their handling of our family member and she is the happiest we have seen her in a long time. Staff responsiveness to requests is timely and more importantly very understanding of the issues for the resident as well as the family. We couldn't be happier and the staff appear to enjoy their work. There has been an excellent integration of the care with Doctors Making House Calls followed by communication of the results and plans of action. We love the openness of the facility and the fact that we can drop in at anytime.

Nice place but room for improvement

I have had issues with [name removed] falling and no one around. No phone calls that she has fallen. Her clothes are disappearing and clothes that are not hers are in her closet. Very clean place, I think they need more attendants for patients. I hate saying I was being lied to but I was not told the truth on something's that I brought up to the director. Attendants in the back told me the truth. Cost is crazy, but I think having to be in a memory care place cost more? Now that she is in wheelchair I think she could go to anywhere that has dementia patients

Dissapointed with this community

We picked this community because, I needed to get my loved one into a facility quickly. My loved one was there a short period of time. One issue, I had was they did not answer the phones, and they returned my calls a few days later. They did not have sufficient activites available for the residents. It was not structured very well. Overall, I was dissapointed.

Ranson Ridge had very nice staff but the facility itself was older and had more of that institutional feel to it. The room sizes were also small and I knew my dad would not be happy here.

Good with Reservations

It's so hard to say because Covid has cast such a shadow on our experience. I would say visit a lot if you can. We have not been able to so far due to Covid. There are times when there wasn't enough staff, and other times they're staffed well. The staff will definitely go out of their way to help you, but often there's just not enough of them there. We looked into more expensive places, and this seemed like a good value. I think they're doing the best that they can.

My tour of this community was pretty decent. From what I saw the community looked well maintained. Everything was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and nice. There were many factors that played into where to place my husband. This was nice the place for him and his needs.

Tread Lightly

This place is so new that they really don't know what they are doing. Nobody is in charge, the caregivers are not certified, the administration keeps changing and promising to change things, but nothing has changed. I would recommend that this place only be used for a temporary situation until a better facility can be found for your loved one. Also the food is frequently disgusting.
