We virtually toured this community and the tour was fine. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, but there were a few things we didn't like. They had no TVs in the residence rooms and you had to use the furniture provided.

The apartments are huge. The whole facility is huge which I'm not sure is appropriate for my mom at this time. It was quite a hike to get from the main activity area (dining, therapies, activities, outdoor patio which was huge) to what would be her apartment. It's a refurbished Holiday Inn which at first I was skeptical of but it is really nice and they've done a great job. Except for the hallway to the individual apartments was really dark and had an old hotel vibe which I personally found creepy. But there were a lot of residents with their doors propped open who would wave as you walked by. It's right next to Olathe Medical Center which is awesome. Also right next to I-35 which I was worried about noise but I heard none when I was in the apartment model. It smelled clean so it passed the sniff test. Right now this is at or near the top of the list.

We chose Anthology of Farmington because of the cleanliness of the facility and the price because we knew she would eventually be going into memory care. So it was the most for your money. I think the room sizes here are good, they do have options on room sizes based on your needs as well. Overall, I would tell others to just be patient because it is a big transition, especially during covid. I would recommend to others looking.

My mom loves this community. She went originally for respite care, and went back 6 months later. My mom has now been there for 4 years. The community started out with assisted living, and as time has gone on the community is taking all types of residents. Travanse started to use an agency to help staff the community. The rooms are like a Holiday Inn rooms. The last year has seen renovations of the community. The management team keeps changing. There has also seen some turnover of other staff. This is a one rate type of community. The community will make the residents bed and do their laundry. No matter the care, the rate has stayed the same for my mom. They've had different parties to celebrate different items. The community tries to get the residents to dress up for Halloween. The community even has exercise classes for the residents to participate in. The staff has always been friendly and have helped my mom. I would recommend this community to others, even those that are in wheelchairs. The dining room is starting to open back up. They also have an independent living area that has recently opened up.

Very nice and clean facility for assisted living. Close to Olathe Medical. New independent living building has not been started yet. Concern about highway and ambulance noise for the new structure and lack of a view.

Dad’s dementia had developed to a stage that his current residence was not suitable, nor were any others in our town. “He only deserves the best,” was our opinion! Because my daughter has a career in Senior/TBI Speech Therapy in the KC area, she was familiar with several Senior residences that ‘could work’ but she suggested trying TRAVANSE first. We did, and we’ve never looked back. My father was surrounded by ‘family ‘ immediately. They loved him, and treated him with the dignity and respect he deserved. It’s a difficult disease, but they’re obviously trained in dealing with patients who often need redirected, repeating, and reminding! They’re fun, patient and a true blessing to those they encounter!

We really liked Traverse Living when we toured it. It is a hotel that was reconfigured to a memory care unit. The rooms have motion detectors so when the residents get up in the middle of the night the staff will know. Since it was a hotel, though, they have long hallways and I felt that my mother would have gotten lost. I was impressed with the place, but it was not the best for my mother.

I think it's a reasonable place to consider. There are probably other places that are more established with good reputations but are hard to get into or cost more. The building is only a couple years old so it's bright, modern, lots of sitting areas. There is a large courtyard if you want to sit outside. Care has gotten better and new nursing director is good. Facility is clean but room cleaning could be better. As with any assisted living you need someone to advocate for the resident. Food is barely mediocre and menu does not change much. Dining room moves incredibly slow and staff not very attentive. Activities are very female oriented. They bring in entertainment and have a happy hour Monday-Friday. Other residents are mostly pleasant. They allow pets and a cat is great company for my husband. Overall I am satisfied.

I'm 50/50 on the facility. For assisted living, it seems just fine. For memory care, it seems like they just want to medicate the residents into a stupor to avoid having to deal with them.

They seem short staffed; overall it is clean and comfortable ; very friendly staff; It is a safe environment, well lit with a locked door. The communication could be better; meals are usually good; there are a lot of activities but usually involve the TV; a bit over priced. Again, we like the overall feel, the staff is very friendly, but due to the overworked staff, our questions/ concerns are not always addressed promptly.

If your loved one is independent, especially with meds, then go there. If not, Anthology is a mess with meds, timing, dietary instructions, and never informed the family if there is a problem. Also, response time to pressing the button takes a very long time.

There is no leadership or training for the care staff. This is not the fault of the care staff. My sister and I train caregiver after caregiver. They leave because they are not trained and then blamed for resident complaints about care. The food is awful. You can hear the residents complain about the meals everyday. Ask to see menus from the past months, not examples of what might be on the menu. Inquire about caregiver turnover and training. Does the facility use agency services to fill gaps in caregiver schedules, if not, ask why? Inquire about exact destinations for transportation services. For example, if they have in-house beauty services will they still transport a resident to their legacy beauty stylist?

Our family had an in person tour with Anthology of Blue Ash, and it felt like a mini city! It was beautiful. Felt more like resort Yes. Definitely for younger that can do a lot of walking. Anyone with walkers might find the elevators and long hallways too much. I know our father didn't care for that. However we are in the country so that would have been a huge change.

The nursing staff is horrible. We have had issues with medication management and the communication with the nursing staff. In fact the family is taking the medication management back over. There is no systems in place for follow up, and there have been times my loved one has run out of medication and the staff haven't called the family to notify us. There are times the staff haven't responded in the promised average time of 7 minutes to the call button when our loved one has pushed the call button. The residents don't have options to choose from for meals. There is always an alternate meal available if the resident doesn't care for the special that is being served. There are meals times for the residents to dine. There has been a high turnover of staff here.

This facility is clean, overall. It's a new building. For the cost, I expected a little bit more. The staff is ok. The food quality seems ok. I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure about the taste. My mom does mention that sometimes it tastes good and others not so good. I think salt/seasoning might have something to do with it. But I can understand why they don't use it as much, for resident health reasons. Housekeeping could improve, as far as cleanliness of her room. I visit regularly and her room isn't what I would call spotless. I'm sure some of it is due to my mom and her condition, but I still feel like it could be a little more clean. Communication with the family is ok. In my experience, I'm the one who has to initiate it most times. They're good about responding/giving me answers most of the time. At this point, I'm not sure if I would recommend them to family and friends. I'm still trying to get a feel for the facility and how well it's run.
